Once upon a time...
Back in 1991 a military family with Polynesian heritage settled in Tacoma, Washington. They started to dance and practice their culture which included Tahitian drumming or To'ere.

Little did they know that the PNW was brimming with Tahitian talent. Eventually they would connect with each of these Ohana. This became the foundation of the To'ere Ensemble.

Through the years they've supported, promoted and marveled at the musical geniuses that live among the lush evergreen forest. It is with much ALOHA and appreciation that they will be gathering together for the first ensemble.

This marks over two decades of drumming near the Puget Sound and it's well overdue. We will gather to pay tribute to relationships that perpetuate Polynesian culture in the PNW.
